More and more branches in hospitals are equipped with computers containing motion sensors. They play an unexpectedly big role during long-term rehabilitation in both physical and mental aspects.
Consoles with motion sensors force physical activity, which helps, for example, the improvement of limbs. As for the psyche of patients, especially the youngest ones, games improve their well-being, which in the hospital is not very good, and at the same time so desirable during treatment.

Research on the valuable impact of computer games in medicine is still ongoing. Researchers are striving to create games that can be used to monitor and treat children with disorders such as autism, ADHD and ADD. Interestingly, even games with an increased dose of violence can help.
It turns out that the game originally intended for soldiers leaving for a mission to Iraq, which is a training program for them and teaching how to kill people, was transformed in such a way that it could serve the same soldiers as a help in treating trauma caused by wartime experiences. Of course, the effectiveness of therapy is primarily a merit of psychologists and psychiatrists, but the fact is that computer games have largely contributed to this.
Computer games have both their supporters and opponents, and each of these groups is right. In my opinion, however, while maintaining common sense, they can bring a lot of benefits after all. Do not go to extremes, because you can become addicted to everything.
We should control not only the time we spend in front of the computer, but above all what we play. It is often the case that while sitting comfortably in an armchair and enjoying a moment’s respite, we do not realize that we are just murdering, though virtual, but how brutal, we stomp on the corpse by rubbing blood on the asphalt, thus enjoying the number of points gained.
The risk is greater for young children
So let’s not get absorbed by the colorful graphics and magic of the fictitious world. Let’s be a player with many passions who uses this entertainment sensibly and is not a slave to her. Remembering these simple rules, we can overthrow the stereotype circulating in society and put an end to the continuous generalization and blaming of computer games for all social pathologies and all the evils of this world.
Only from us depends on how they affect us. Rational use of them will not only be a source of pleasure but also bring us a lot of benefits. I think that the proper proverb will be the old proverb: „What is too much – it’s unhealthy.”
Games with violence – how do they affect children?
Intense playing games that contain violence can increase the aggressive behavior. The risk is greater for young children. However, it is important in which group the child functions and if he has good contact with the environment.
Research confirmed that playing games intensely, in which the child takes on the action participant, during which one should fight, shoot, chase someone, fight, can lead to the escalation of aggressive behavior.
At the same time, the willingness to help real people decreased
When it comes to adults, it turned out that these games would lead to violence. Bushman’s research on adults has shown that playing 20 minutes of such a game with many players raised the readiness to aggression in an emotional sense. At the same time, the willingness to help real people decreased.
Is every child who plays more aggressive?
No. This is determined by a number of factors, but it is certainly exposed to children who do not have good peer contacts, not participating in real games, during which they have the opportunity to see that the beating hurts and aggressive behavior in the game results in the lack of friends.
Children who have this type of verification in real life are convinced that the patterns of behavior from games are not effective. It is also dangerous to play excessive games – that is, to devote many hours to them.
